Many people know about God, but only some
have discovered what it is to fall in love with Him. In order to
have a personal relationship with the living God, you must understand
His plan of salvation.
Perhaps you have already accepted God’s offer, but
there is still doubt in your mind when someone asks “If you died
today, where would you spend eternity?”
Maybe you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your
personal Savior and Lord. Today can be the day! This decision is
only the beginning of a wondrous, lifelong journey with the One
who loves you infinitely.
1. Recognize God loves you and desires relationship
with you. For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. Jn 3:16 But God commendeth
his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died
for us. Rom 5:8 The Bible is full of evidence that God loves
us. The greatest demonstration of his love was when he sent his
only Son to die for our sins. God is always pursuing you. Will you
2. Realize man is sinful and needs a Savior.
All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Rom 3:23
Without a Savior, we exist in a state of separation from God. The
sinless nature of God cannot coexist with the sinful nature of man.
We cannot get to God simply by being “good” or believing that God
exists. In order to enjoy a personal relationship with God, we must
accept God’s son, Jesus. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the
truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
3. Repent for your sins, and acknowledge
that the shed blood of Jesus Christ is the only thing that can cleanse
you from all sin. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that
your sins may be blotted out…Acts 3:19 In whom we have
redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according
to the riches of his grace… Eph 1:7 Despite what popular culture
says, Jesus is the only way to the one true God. It was Jesus who
died on the cross and paid the penalty for our sins. His blood is
the only cleansing agent that can deal with all our past, present
and future sin. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and
that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest
any man should boast. Eph 2:8-9 There is nothing we can do
to earn salvation. It is the free gift of God given to us.
4. Receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and
Lord. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved. Rom 10:13 In order to receive this gift
of forgiveness and eternal life, you must believe and confess. If
you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart
that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For
with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation. Rom 10:9-10 Take God at
his word and receive his gift of salvation!
5. Be Restored to your divine place in God’s
purpose for your life. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians
5:17 But as many as received him, to them gave he power
to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name…
Jn 1:12 If you are ready to receive Jesus Christ, we encourage
you to pray this prayer to the Lord right where you are:
Jesus, I need You in my life. I confess that I have
sinned and I come to You right now asking for your forgiveness.
I believe You are the Son of God, that You died on the cross for
my sins, and that You rose from the dead and are alive today. I
open my heart and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for
forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Have your way in my
life Lord, and teach and mold me into the person you have destined
me to be. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
If you prayed this prayer, please
